As M State’s non-credit and customized training division, WDS partners with employers across Minnesota and North Dakota to deliver flexible, industry-driven education that supports career advancement, business growth, and regional economic vitality. Based in Moorhead, with M State campuses in Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Wadena, and Fergus Falls, the WDS team provides training for learners and organizations of all sizes. Services include customized employer training, leadership and professional development, healthcare education, commercial driver’s license (CDL) training, fire and emergency services training, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, welding, safety and compliance programs, and industry-recognized certifications. WDS has the ability to respond quickly to changing workforce needs. Whether an employer needs to upskill current employees, an individual is preparing for a new career, or an industry needs a new certification program, the team works directly with partners to create practical, accessible training solutions that produce real results. Each year, WDS trains more than 9,000 learners, delivers more than 100,000 training hours, and supports hundreds of employer partnerships throughout the region. Its regional fire schools alone train more than 400 firefighters annually. WDS believes learning should continue throughout a person’s career.
