All Matt’s Automotive Service Center locations in the Fargo Moorehead communities are known for providing exceptional customer care and vehicle service that is unmatched in its industry. Owner, Matt Lachowitzer founded the company in 2009 and has branched out to five locations in the area. Lachowitzer’s s dedication and skill to his craft is no surprise, having received awards and certifications from Ford Motor Company, General Motors, and ASE, and he is an ASE Certified Master Technician.
However, for Lachowitzer, being a successful business goes far beyond auto repair and repairing vehicles. The team at Matt’s Automotive is highly trained in guest experience, relationship building, and providing an unmatched experience to their customers, not selling to them. For Lachowitzer, that means replacing the typical sales and commission model of doing business and implementing new ways to build a relationship with the customer. The entire staff at Matt’s Auto is paid salary, not commission, allowing each guest to have an individual experience and have full transparency in the care of their vehicle. By eliminating commission, it allows our staff to take the extra time and build a longlasting relationship with our guests, and to educate them on their vehicle. “I felt like there was a need for a different way of doing auto repair,” says Lachowitzer. “We are trying to change what people think when they think of auto repair.”
Giving back to the Fargo-Moorhead community is one of the company’s core values. In the last twelve years, Matt’s Auto has donated over $1.2 million dollars. “I don’t want to be remembered for fixing cars, I want to be
remembered for what we’ve done for this community,” says Lachowitzer, who loves supporting local charities and organizations. In 2020, Matt’s Auto purchased $1,200 in Girl Scout cookies, and in turn, donated half to the food shelf and the remaining half were sent to our troops overseas, among several other charity drives they did in 2020.
