Nancy Kelly never planned on a career in day labor—but after answering a newspaper ad postcollege, she found a calling.
For 17 years, she built deep ties across Fargo-Moorhead, connecting workers with opportunity and businesses with essential help. In 2014, Nancy founded Labor Masters, determined to reshape perceptions around temp labor.
Her vision is to have a dignified, welcoming space where employees feel valued—from the lobby to the coffee bar.
Today, Labor Masters serves the FM and lakes area with last-minute and emergency staffing, employing over 1,500 people annually. Some stay for a day, others for decades.
Nancy’s impact hasn’t gone unnoticed—she’s been a finalist for Small Business and Entrepreneur of the Year, and led the Home Builders Care Foundation.
At its heart, Labor Masters is about dignity, reliability, and the joy of helping clients finish a job—and employees get paid.
