Executive Director Matthew Hallaway
Matthew Hallaway grew up in Rocklake, North Dakota, where graduating in a class of five taught him the value of community, connection, and consistency. Those lessons carried him through a 25-year career in banking and education—and now guide his leadership of the NDSCS Alumni Foundation.
As Executive Director, Matthew oversees one of the region’s strongest community college foundations. With over $37 million in assets and more than $1.6 million in annual scholarships, the Foundation supports students in healthcare, trades, and academics. But for Matthew, it’s about more than the numbers. It’s about people. He leads with heart, humor, and a clear mission to build relationships that last and open doors for the next generation.
The Foundation’s reach extends far beyond Wahpeton’s campus. Thousands of alumni across the region stay connected through stories, campaigns, and events that honor the past while fueling the future. Donors aren’t just donors—they’re partners in student success.
Matthew’s dedication to service shows up everywhere. He serves on the FMCT Board, mentors Boy Scouts, supports Oak Grove Theatre, and volunteers across Wahpeton-Breckenridge as a Twin Town Ambassador. Whether in a boardroom, auditorium, or student production, he shows up with energy—and yes, his nickname really is “Juice.”
What sets Matthew apart is his belief in building something lasting. With every campaign, event, and alumni connection, he’s helping grow a community where education, gratitude, and generosity thrive. For Matthew Hallaway, Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo isn’t just home. It’s a place where relationships matter and futures are built—one conversation, one student, one scholarship at a time.
