McKenzie Kjos, CEO of Tootsie’s Children’s Boutique, Mickey Roo Maternity & Nursery, and Kenzie + Co. Kids Boutique, turned her lifelong passion for fashion into a successful business.
The journey began when she opened Tootsie’s in August 2017 to meet the local need for a children’s store with a wide selection for both boys and girls.
Today, Tootsie’s offers unique apparel for children sizes preemie to seven and has been voted the best children’s store in the Red River Valley for two years.
McKenzie also launched Mickey Roo Maternity & Nursery with her mom, Janell Kjos, a store that provides maternity wear, nursery furniture, and infant gear. Located next to Tootsie’s, it offers a convenient shopping experience for moms and moms-to-be. McKenzie opened her third business, Kenzie + Co. Kids Boutique in the spring of 2021 and ran it until Spring of 2024 when her mother assumed ownership of the business so McKenzie could focus more on her growing family.
