The FM Area Foundation is a community foundation that empowers individuals to support causes they’re passionate about. With over 440 charitable funds, it has collaborated with families, businesses, and advisors to meet Cass and Clay Counties’ community needs for over six decades. In 2022, the FM Area Foundation granted over $9.5 million locally and beyond to important charitable causes.
The FM Area Foundation has a remarkable ability to handle complex gifts. For instance, consider Alice and Samuel, who have dedicated more than four decades to caring for their farm and raising their two sons. While they were delighted to see their children pursue different professions, it was also emotional. They decided to donate a portion of their farmland to the FM Area Foundation to avoid substantial capital gains taxes and establish a family fund supporting their preferred causes.
